In and Outs

INS

1. Exercise. It has been one of the only things I can do to relax after/during revision that feels like a great relief and something that it actually doing me good. It's also quite guilt-free, as opposed to watching tv etc :L This brings me swiftly onto my next post...

2. Body Rock. It's an at home workout programme, check it out here. It's super intense and with only 12mins per workout, an amazing time saver! Don't think you're not gonna work up a sweat in 12 mins...it's crazy, and Zuzana the instructor is great at teaching the steps and encouraging you.

3. Sweatpants. Going for the sports related hat trick here! Since I've been at home these past few weeks on study leave I have had zero reason to change into my normal day clothes and put on makeup. Having said that, staying in my pyjamas all day seems a little sloppy, hence- jogging bums. Not to mention sooo comfy, brand of choice SoulCal and Hollister.

4. Neutrogena Multi Defence. Have not got a bad word to say about Neutrogena, this moisturiser is no different. Doesn't break me out, got SPF15, smells lovely, really moisturising and was only £5 at Superdrug. Can't argue with that!

5. Jessie J. Did you see her at Radio Ones big weekend?!? She has such an amazing voice and her songs could not be catchier, its a wonder how she hasn't been discovered before. And what amazingly shiny hair she has! I want to know her secret.

OUT

1. Revision. Not a surprise, and I do apologise for my ongoing moaning. But at the moment it just seems like a never ending pile of revision guides, past papers and notes! Trying to see the light at the end of tunnel and hope that it will all pay off. But some days I feel like just giving up and I don't know joining the circus!

2. Milk. Slight inspiration from the gorgeous Anna, who gave up cows milks and hasn't looked back. Now I am a major dairy queen and can't live without ice-cream, yoghurts, milk etc. I have recently swapped to either Soya Milk or Oat Milk (seriously don't knock till you've tried) and feel much healthier. I am less bloated, have lost a bit of weight and still my skin and nails are in good quality.

3. Brilliant Brunette. This Shampoo/Conditioner has the most amazing hazelnut smell, but of has recently left my hair really greasy, even straight away after washing and throughly rinsing. I've also noticed a few nasty spots on my back where my hair lies, and I can only put it down to using a new Shampoo... Back to Lloreal we go.

4. Being Pale. As a naturally pale girl, I always said I would love my pasty self through and through and would not succumb to fake tan. Until my friend introduced me do St. Moriz. It's like me, but only a little bit better! I have to say admittedly I love having bronzed pins and at this time of year where the legs are just coming out, it gives me so much more confidence. So there, I'm a convert!

Let me know whats in&out for you!!

Revising...my how to!

No blogposts for months now twice in one day?!

It may be because I am desperate for something to do other than studying for my ever increasingly immanent AS levels, the first of my exams actually gone last friday :S

So, as it is shortly coming up to exam season I thought I would tell you a few tips that I used to revise, in the hope that they may be useful to you in some way! Now a little disclaimer- this is what works for me, everyone is different and it is up to you to find the way of revising that works for you.

1. My Method. I like to revise primarily from revision guides or textbooks. I feel that in those books will be everything i need to know for the exam. I copy out notes onto little index cards (colour co-ordinated to subject obviously :L) and use different colours and pictures. I then go through these cards over and over, and also look over my class notes to see if there is anything I have missed.

What I also use are past papers. These are brilliant for learning exam technique, how to answer the question, what to expect and eventually you will probably meet the same question again, and so will be able to answer it perfectly!

2. Timescale. I'm a big believer in planning ahead, I drew up a revision timetable back in March so come exam time- theoretically- i should be well prepared. Please don't go into thinking its a hardcore work plan, give yourself several 'rest days', plan parties/birthdays etc into the timetable so you know to revise well before or after!

For me I try and revise in my free periods at college and after college if I'm not knackered or at work or have something on. So maybe average 1-2 hours a night. I work on Saturdays so have to work quite hard on a Sunday, but not crazy hard :P Maybe two hours in the morning, two in the afternoon- it's not that bad!

3. Advice. I know it can seem never ending and it is hard to find the motivation, but trust me, when you open that exam envelope it will all be worth it!

Reward yourself with food, clothes, bath- any short term goal that you can look towards to help you revise better.

Turn facebook off...I know, I know. But seriously it's such a time waster, so take the opportunity away. Go on it after you've finished that past paper!

Regular breaks, food and water are essential.

Get organised, having a folder with all your work in, having all your notes in one place and knowing you have plenty of time to suss out what you don't know makes it all that much easier.

So I hope these tips have helped :) Please share any holy grail revising tips you have!

And good luck!! xxx

T-t-t-tag. The Fashion One

So I fancied writing a blogpost today, as it has been so long, and I really cannot apologise enough damn you a-levels. And I though it was a nice one to do as I am more fashion than beauty savvy and also because my face is not such a pretty sight this morning, that'll teach me for sleeping with makeup on!
insert semi-fashion conscious picture!

Ok, without further ado here is it!

1. How would you describe your style? As boring as this is gonna sound, my style is wearable, neutrally simplistic and kinda latest trends meets classic fashion. I like following new styles, but try to buy staple pieces that will last me a while. Its also generally brights for summer, darks/nudes for winter.

2. What are your wardrobe staples? Leggings. Come rain or shine, dress up or dress down. Super comfy and go with anything. If we are being less sloppy definitely dark skinny jeans and floaty cardigans.

3. Most expensive item in your closet? *looks through wardrobe* It would have to be my prom dress, it wasn't crazy expensive but still the most i've spent on a single piece. I don't normally like pink, but i absolutly fell in love with this dress and i think it really suited my body type.
I'm a student so if your looking for designer pieces, my closet is not the place to look! Having said that maybe possibly hopefully something designer for my 18th this year...fingers crossed.

4. Most wanted item? Christian Louboutins!!!
Don't care which ones i just want the red heels!

5. Favourite designer? If I could afford it... Balmain. But I love, Vuitton, Stella McCartney, Lanvin, Chloe and ofcourse Chanel.

6. How much do you spend on clothes? I try not to spend that much money, as much as i love fashion there are more important things to do with my money. Some months I'll go crazy others I'll be more restrained, on average maybe £50-70 give or take a month.

7. What are your favourite places to shop? As a teenage girl the obvious favourites are Primark, Topshop, H&M. I also love Zara, boohoo and asos!

8. Favourite fragrance? Beyonce Heat. It just smells so good! Also CKIN2U in the summer is lovely.

9. What's your favourite way to do your hair? I have naturally straight hair as it is, and don't mind having it down naturally. But i do love a wave, still trying to perfect the technique though. Any tips please let me know!

10. What is your go-to outfit when you have no idea what to wear? Zara cream blouse, leggings and biker boots :)

11. One fashion trend you wish would come back or stay? Probably 50's or 60's, love the full skirts and ponytails and the whole Brigitte Bardot look. Having said that, I don't have the body of women in those eras, sadly no 23" waist for me, so I think I'd find it hard pulling off the dresses.

12. Show us your most prized possession in your wardrobe.

Black DP peep toe court shoes. Make my legs look lovely, go with (nearly) everything...and i can wear them all night!

Thats it!
Hope you liked it, please feel free to do the tag to and let me know!!
